In 2023, Sciensus commissioned an independent research project to gain deeper insights into the experiences of patients receiving chemotherapy in various settings, as well as to investigate the factors influencing their choices.
The research revealed that many patients had overwhelmingly positive experiences and spoke compellingly about the advantages of receiving treatment in the comfort of their own homes.
Some of the key benefits identified by patients who chose home treatment included:
- Eliminating the need to travel
- Allowing them to maintain their daily routines with fewer disruptions
- Personalizing the experience to suit their preferences
- Fostering feelings of resilience and hope
- Building supportive, practical relationships with their caregivers
The research combined in-depth interviews with quantitative surveys, gathering data from patients who received treatment either at home or in a clinic.
